I am still not ordering perfume. I came to this decision after realizing that it has been barely two weeks since I placed my last order. I certainly *could* afford it, if I wanted, but I need to step back from this a bit, I think. I'll wait until at least next month. I will. Of course, if someone else wanted to buy me a present, then imps ears of all the ten different Sephiroth oils woudl certainly be a good way to go ;)

I had a good morning. I went to the class... The discussipn today really sucked. i was very dissapointed in the class. Dr. Parkerson was frustrated. I think People are stuill having book issues, and that they didn't really have enough time to digest the material, or maybe even read all of it. I hope next week is better! next week is also the day they hand in their historiography paper... woo-hoo marking! I forgot to note, but some of them have pretty interesting topics! They have to pick one topic, and first do a historiographical essay based on examining what other scholarship has been done on it (which I mark), and then a research paper using primarily primary sources, which Dr. P marks. This will be better than last term for a number of reasons: 1: they are choosing topics they want to do, rather than ones from a list,, so the variety will be better... Horay for not schlocking through 20 papers on McCarthyism or Reconstruction or Vietnam! Also, there are fewer students, and they are (I believe) all honours kids, so tey shoudl be a better quality of paper.... *hope*
Topics include the Marquis DeSade, Blackbeard, the battle of Navarino (Last battle fought under sail, for Greek independence... the alied forces vs. the Ottomans had Steam... the Ottomans did not, whoops!), and somethign about a local NC character names Zebulon Vance. That is the best name ever.

Anywya, after that, I went to the library, to look up and see what they have in the library about flags. I'm going to be lookign at signal flags used in the civil war, forcussing on the Confederate navy... I am interested in how the Confederates created their navy from scratch, basically, including (and especially) the infrastructue, and this is part of that. I'm going to look at earlier US use of signal flags as a contrast. Shoudl be good there are some juicy looking bits of primary source material to look at. I don't know if I'll get to use any *real* flags, or any archaeology, but whatever. It'll be neat, anyway. I also looked up some stuff on JSTOR before realizing that I'd rather print them to read them, so I just marked down the searches that turned up anything useful.

Now I am home! I took an allegra-D this morning, because I am almost out of the regular ones, but the 'D' is for decongestion, and they have sudafed in them, which makes me zombirific! bah. I am going to eat lunch, do some readings... and see if I can't make myself go to the gym for some swimming. Swimming is good! I want to get into the habit. I should put on my swimsuit, though, and make sure I can wear it decently without a little *cough* trimming ;) I still need a new one.

I never did get a bike. I got my hair cut instead. y hair seems so much shorter to me... like it went from being 'ridiculously, gloriously long!' to just 'long'. Today is is being pretty curly too (I took a bath last night, with some hair oil in it), so it seems shorter. But I like it curly. usually the curls just brish/comb out, but not today! I blame extra oil... which is another reason I thik it will be good to go swimming. I'm less afriad of chlorine damage right at the moment.

I also started a new ournal yesterday. I bought a tiny tiny little book, about 3-4 inches square, which I can carry in my purse to write down... whatever. To-do lists, library call numbers, quotes, random thoughts, anything. If I can fill it (It is only 60 tiny pages), maybe I will send it to someone as a surprise!.... Okay, that was a spontaneous idea, and a good one, but maybe I'd better not write down anything I'm going to need again if I am sending it away! See above re-library call numbers, etc. This morning I copied some info out of books that I didn't want to check out, because they only had less than a paragraph of use. I can just transfer thatto something else, I suppose We'll see.

Anyway, my lunch is calling me! Yum, soup!
