Well, I will later. There isn't anyne here to give cupcakes too, though, and I am sad ;_;

The people who are here are crazy, too. I'm in the history lab. Someone just said that "reenactoirs don't care about being historically accurate, they just like to dress up." Fools. :p

I decided to wear a certain perfume today and now I am super super hungry.... Stupid Velvet, why do you always do this to me? :o

Well, to a certain extent, they don't. The SCA doesn't care to reenact sanitary conditions of those times, for example.

The SCA aren't *really* reenactors. The are creative interpreters of the past ;) It is about having fun, and playing, but generlaly not about hardcore realism. However, when you start talking about, say, civil war reenactors.... some of them get kind of scary. Okay, maybe more than kind of. There are degrees, sure, but just to lump them all together like that is really, well, inaccurate.

I've never met any civil war reenactors, so I wouldn't know to what degree they take it to. I know it's a big thing for the US, though, just not how big.

Does remind me of this comic strip regarding LARPing though... http://www.pvponline.com/archive.php3?archive=20040831 (which continues for many strips about the various hijinks).

But yeah. Generalisations are like that... typically have exceptions. I guess you'd have to ask whoever what kind of reenactors they were thinking of.
