And just because...

Moasses Cake, submitted to the Harker's Island cookbook, Island Born and Bred by Debbie Dixon

1 C sugar
1 C oil
1 C molasses
2 C flour
2 tsps soda
1 C boiling water
3 eggs

Mix sugar, oil, molasses, eggs, flour and 1/2 C boiling water. Mix soda in other 1/2 C boiling water; add to the first mixture. Bake in a 9x13-inch pan at 350 for 30 min.

P.S. adding baking soda to boiling water is cool. Cake is yummy, but needs ginger, and nutmeg and/or cloves wouldn't be amiss either. Would be good with cream.

OK, that bacon cheeseburger pie sounds really good. But what the heck is "2/4 C Bisquick?" Would that be the same as "1/2 C Bisquick", perchance?

Why, thank you. If I'd known about it at the time, I might have turned into a bonsai potato.

Why wouldn't you just make a cheeseburger?

I made this cake like an hour after you posted it. I read the recipe, and I saw that I had all the ingredients, so I made it. I have no idea what I'm going to do with all this cake, but it is fucking good!! I had to make some substitutions. 1/2 C of butter and 1/2 C of oil bc I ran out of oil. Some brown sugar to make up for the molasses I didn't have. I adde the spices you suggested, plus cinnamon bc I can't not add cinnamon to things. Hmm. The consistency is awesome!! I felt I didn't add enough spices, and that it was a little less sweet than I thought it would be. But it was still delicious. My boyfriend and I ate it with ice cream last night. He keeps calling it "ginger bread." I think he is addicted to it .)

*I* have no idea what I'm going to do with all this cake -_- I live alone! I guess I will bring some to class on Tuesday.

But yes, it is pretty awesome, isn't it? :D I wish I had some ice cream though, that would be perfect!
