It is official! Next week, a futon will be delivered to my house. A futon that used to be a bed. That means that other people have had sex on it. Just so you know, should you come to visit. There is little chance that *I* will have had sex on it. So, just think of it, is all I'm sayin' ;) I am also getting a papasan chair, yay! And another booksheld and a couple of chairs. Where is all tis coming from? Well, there is a couple, John and Zhenia (she's Russian, and I hope I'm spelling that right!), who were in the program but are now moving to Alaska, because Zhenia got a job working at the Aleutian Islands museum. Yeah. They're moving way the fuck out in the middle of *nowhere*, and looking forward to it. John said there is a boat that goes out there, five times a year.... Oh, and in theory there is a daily plane to Ankorage. In theory. In practice, the weather is too bad. Anyway, this means they have all kinds of furniture to sell off. And he has a truck, or can at least access one, so delivery is all a piece of cake too :D

That was the thing I didn't want to jinx. It seems everytimg I announced that I might have found a couch, that something happened, so I wanted to wait until after the fact :o I could have had their couch too but a: I don't thikn I need a couch and a futon, and b: even though it was not that old, and it was big and quite comfy, it was shredded to bits on the arms by their cat. ...to be honest, I'm still considering that part, since it is only 20$!

Anyway, there is something else I did today that will maybe improve my quality of life. I went to the library! I was just intending to get a start on some research for a my boat project for material culture... But I went to the North Carolina collection and was immediately accosted by librarians who were assertively helpful. Everytime someone new saw me they were all asking if/how they could help me :o They found me all kinds of stuff! So I spent many more hours there than I'd intended.

In other news, Hero is playing at the school theater this week, so I'm going to see who might all want to go see it with me.

In other other news... it is snowing! Little tiny baby fklakes that have yet to ven realy consider what it means to accumulate, but still! I am happy, because it is snowing, but also because I can be smug and say things like "Oh this hardly counts are *real* snow! I've lost track of how many storms they've had back home already this year..." and such things ;) Hee! I am also told that chances are good they will cancel classes tomorrow if there is any kind of accumulation, which *boggles my mind*. Anyway.... that's all. I need food. My library soujourn has delayed my lunch by a good three hours :o

ooh. Hero's so good! It's the kind of film that must be seen multiple times, though...I don't buy fims on DVD very often, but I'm considering this one because it's so complex :) If I were nearby I'd definitely go with you to see it again, but alas, I am far, far away....

I saw the original chinese release a fewyears ago, but I want to see what tarantino did to it, and also, see it on a big screen. It is a wonderful film, agreed.

If you're ever down this way, though, you should look me up :) Of course, that being said, I have no idea why anyone would *ever* want to come down this way ;p

oh, I had no idea it was a remake. Your kung-fu is superior to mine *smirk* cool, I'll have to hunt down the original now :)

Where exactly are you, anyways? Are you in America? Heh. I should pay better attention *hee*

I don't think it was a re-make, so much as that he handled the language stuff (dubbing or sub titling? I'm not sure which it is, to be honest :o), and minor editing. I don't think much was changed.

And I am in Greenville, North Carolina.

....yeah :p

Nothing was changed in the movie except for maybe the subtitles. What Tarantino did was pressure Miramax into releasing the film since they have had the rights to it since it was originally released.

Also I do plan on visiting you at some point. When kind of currently depends upon the money situation at the moment. Then I can do stuff to your futon/couch ;)
