Once again, Kumar and Hazel are both asleep, and I am not. It is just past noon, here. I went to bed around three, to give Hazel a little time to sleep before I went in and woke her up with my snoring :p She says she can´ty sleep with me in the room at all, so I am letting her sleep as much as she wants to today. Well, it will probably mean that she won´t get to see the funeral carriage museum today, but I think she would rather sleep. I hope we do get to go see the Sagrada Famila though. That´s the huge cathedral that Gaudi designed, but that won´t get finished for another couple of centuries. It looks quite impressive anyway, from what I´ve seen.

I think that we are going to have people come over here for a bit tonight, and then go out later for some drinks. The traditional thing to do here on NYW is to eat grapes as the new year is rung in... One grape for each bell toll. Mmmmmmm, grapes.

Yesterday, we went to gho soo the art exhibits that Hazel wanted to see. They were both very interesting. The stuff by Susan Coolen (spelled right this time for sure!) especially. There were a couple of different series where she´d made up different scripts (as in writing systems) out of natural objects, like bones, sticks, and snake skins. The other exhibit, by Annie Thibault, was all of fungus cultures in petrie dished, arranged to look like (I think) different microscopic organisms. Nifty. I tried telling Hazel that her stuff, ideas, works, etc, were equally compelling, but of course, she never believes me :/

Spain, of course, has it´s tradition of the siesta in the afternoon. This means that most museums and such are closed between about 2 and 4. Many stores are also closed. Because we tend to get going rather late in the day (like today, for instance!), this means that we usually have the time to see one thing before the siesta. This is partly because of travel time. For instace, if we are done at one place around non, then it might be a matter of geting to the next place and actually still having time to *see* all of it before it closes. Usually, we wind up wandering around kind of aimlessly, doing a little bit of shopping. I have been dragged through just about every shoe store that we have seen, but so far just to look. Hazel now regrets not trying on some boots she saw in Italy. I knew she would, ahh well. I have biught myself some things... nothing incredibly exotic, just the same sorts of things you might find at Cultures or any other little clothing import shop like it. However, I live in Greenville, and I have yet to find anything similar there. Bah. Anyway, I have new stripey pants, and a little sweater thing in orange and green paisley. Yay! Hazel is also trying to find pants(trousers even), but has not had much luck to date. She fear she won´t find anything until London, when everything is going to be retardedly expensive. We´ll see, I guess. You know, I really have no idea where to even go for shopping in London, hmmm... We are only going to have one day, and not even a full one to shop in. Or so Hazel thinks. Things may be open on the second... but it is a Sunday, so who knows? I don´t really plan on buying anything there unless something really amazing jumps out at me. Like big clunky boots, or maybe a nice corset ;)

Well, I think I have pretty much chattered myself out. I probably have more I could say, about food and such (last night, we went to a Peruvian place, but I promised Hazel I wouldn´t make any Perseity cracks while we were there ;p ), but I don´t especialy feel like it, so nyaaaa! Maybe I will try to think of something else to write later.

Not sure if stuff in Camden will be open on Sunday, but that's the place for boots and corset :)
