I just had lunch. I went to bed relatively early last night, after I got home from Diablotin (in bed by around 11:30). I was tired then. I got up around 8 this am. Suddenly, I am exhausted, and am desperately craving a nap. I have class in about twenty minutes though, and then need to go pick up a few things at the library. Maybe *then* I will have a nap. Yesterday when I was shopping, this happened as well. I'd been running all over wal-mart, looking for various bits (and I forgot to get a hammer... I have no idea what happened to mine, but it never made it to NC. Now I can't put my bookshelves together ;_;), and when I stopped, I almost felt dizzy, and suddenly really tired. Maybe I've just not been eating right. I've been rushing for a lot of things lately, and also I had a can of coke yesterday for the first time in ages, so it could have any number of causes. Still, I think a nap will be in order later on. I can stop at the little store on my way back from the library and get a hammer too, if I remember.

I've pretty much finished my presentation now. I just need to go through it and time it. Once I know how long it will take me, I can conclude it properly, and then either take out or put in a few more examples. I'd be sad if I don't get to mention how Davis tricked the Portuguese into thinking he was a Man-of-War, though. I'm already sad that I had to take out references to Snelgrave. ;_;

Tonight will probably mostly be spent reading The Diligent which is an account of a French slaving voyage in a ship of the same name, go figure. It's really interesting so far, even just to look at the French hypocracy - it is okay to have slaves in the colonies, but unthinkable in France itself. Gotta love mercantilism!

Medea: Granddaughter of Helios, Hecate's chosen: Medea was one of the greatest sorceresses of the ancient world. She is the embodiment of ruthless power, indomitable will and furious vengeance. Night-blooming cereus, black orchid, black currant and myrtle leaf enshrouded in the incense of Hecate's cypress and myrrh, and the dark rage of magickal labdanum and intoxicating poppy.

Medea is one of my favourite classical mythology stories. I stage directed a modern version of the play in highschool, so I'm kind of attached, and I had to see what she smelled like ;) I'm not very good at picking out the individual notes, but here goes!

I do like this scent, but it is pretty faint on me already, after about four hours. I don't generally like florals (ad am allergic to a lot of them anyway), but this is nice, probably because the current and the cypress are sharper, and less cloying. Also, the 'flowers' involved here are really the standard flowery scents, anyway ;). It's sweet and rich, with some sharper notes, and the florals more muted... but again, it is really faint, and I'm not sure if it would be really noticable if you weren't sniffing around for it. I find, unfortunately, that a lot of the BPAL scents I really like just have no staying power (with exceptions, of course!).

Generally a nice scent. I'd wear it again, and migh buy/trade for new imps in the future, but I probably wouldn't buy a whole bottle.

I am off to class! I hope I can stay awake -_-
