I just finished making 5 of the 15 essays that I had left to do today. Not a single one of them properly followed the instructions of the assignment. That means that *at least* a third of the students whose essays I marked today didn't understand the ditections, at at least 9-10% of the class. I didn't count the ones from yesterday, so I promise you it is higer than that. And I can tell by loking that most of the others that I have to do today also got it wrong... Man. is this the kid's fault, or the proffs, or both? I mean, *some* of them got it right. The syllabus says: "Historigraphical Essay: Each stuent will write a historiographical essay of 1500 words. The essay will synthesize three articles and/or books selected from "Suggestions for Further Reading" following each section of Davis.... Chigago Style is requires for both the Prospectus and the Paper."
*Historiography is what the class is all about, they should all know what it means! The history of history! I can see where mabe the word 'synthesize' may make things a little unclear... but we went over it in class!
Aaaaaaaah!
