In other news, Katie, one of the girls in my program who I initially suspected of being a big sci-fi geek (which is a good thing in my books), is also into SCA fighting ^-^ She tells me that there is allegedly a group in Greenville, and that if they get back to her she will let me know. I am thinking of asking her about helping me make some cheap plastic armour and looking for sources for metal bits that SCA requires (head and joint covers, basically), so that at the very least, I can spar with her.

See, if I had known this *before*, I could have asked for armour bits for my birthday. Not that I'd get it, but I could have *asked* ;)

Now I am all revved up to hit things with sticks, only I can't. Maybe I can make myself a vigilante costume and go beat up muggers...

Maybe I can be a superhero for Hallowe'en. Hmm, there's a thought. I bet I have enough of that weird white wool(?) stuff to make a cloak... What kind of super hero should I be?
