I checked the weather this morning, twice. I checked by glancing out my window, first. It looked kind of grey out, but the mornings here are sometimes hazy, and it means nothing. I checked online, through the local newspaper. It said that it was indeed going to be hazy this morning, and then mostly sunny with thunderstorms this evening. Okay, I thought, that's fine. It wasn't supposed to be too hot, so I dressed appropriately, in a long sleeve shirt.
Well. After my 9 Am class, you may recall, I tend to go to the history lab, and kill the hour I have to wait on the computer. Usually I look at LJ, and often make an update. Today I thought I would spare you, since I posted so much yesterday, and also because I wanted to go over my notes some for my exam tomorrow. I looked outside when someone else commented that it was raining. Well. Poop on that, I thought! Then she explained that we were actually supposed to get really terrible weather, including winds gusting up to 50 mph. D'oh! I still don't even own an umbrella (though I had three or even four at one point, in F'ton), and hadn't brought my coat.
Well, I decided that my other errands would have to wait, and walked directly home after the class I TA. I got absolutely soaked. It was warm rain, at least, but my skin is now dry and itchy. I changed pretty much as soon as I got in, and my clothes are hanging up to dry. I need lunch, and then I will go curl up with my readings for Theory. Maybe I will also do the dishes... I have no more clean glasses and bowls are getting pretty scarce.
