I did my presentation this morning, and everything went really well! Everyone said it was excellent. One girl said it was one of the best lectures she has been to lrecently, though she may have just been referring to that class. Still! I was happy with it and happy that it was done.
I got back my Sea Power review yesterday, adn got an A. I got back my Armada paper today, and also got an A. Yes! I talked to dr Swanson and he said that he doesn't see any reason that I couldn't get credit for doing the arch field school. I dind't think he would. Of course, now I just haev to see what is being offered... There is a bit of upheval in the archaeology group going on at the moment. The program director is resgining his post, for unknown reasons, in the fall. Two other profs are probably going to be gone as well.
Anyway! I am feeling a lot more confident about my capabilities and the program in general,a nd want to thank everyone who offered me support and ecouragement last week when I was feeling particularly derailed. So, now I just need to organize the rest of my semester!
On Thursday I have a mid-term. I'm not tooo worried about it, because it is only worth 100 points. Also, I think my notes are good enough that I'll be able to muddle through alright if I review them and skim some of the readings (again).
After that, I have two months to prepare my three big papers. The first one due is in Theory (always theory... bah!), and it is going to be the hardest one, I think because I need to look through a lot more new stuff and because I don't really know what I'm going to be doing. There are people that I need to contact about getting information. I will do that tomorrow, when I am studying in the comfort of my own home.
Then I need to pick a book for Sea Power, and start the readings for the next discussion in Carl's class. I can start those Thursday afternoon, and maybe skim more during Perseity ;)
I need to start researching my two histopry papers more, and getting notes. I'll start that *next* Wednesday.... Monday and Tuesday are 'breakl' days and I'll have essays to mark, bah! I can also go through my own sources here and see what I can use. I used to have really detailed notes on the General History but I don't think they made it home from England. i can also start making a list of other sources I need to consult. I have about a month before I'm going to need to do a presentation for Dr. Dudley on the methods of piracy.
But I have everything in order. right now, I'm taking off to the bank to deposit a money order from my grandmother, and apply for a Visa so that I can buy tickets for Christmas! Sweet!
Gotta run, I have a meeting in an hour too :) See people online tonight.... after I get home and crash for a bit, and finish up the thing... I must do another post about writing later on, plus I need to answer Rum's interview questions and ask some to Shan.
This is a completely uneditied post, 'cause I'm in a hurry. Forgive me.
