I wonder what would happen if Easter Sunday ever fell on the first of April. "I'm sorry, all this stuff about Jesus being resurrected, It's all a hoax. Some archaeologists found the tomb fifty years about it and there's just been a huge cover up. Why don't you, instead of wasting my time singing hymns, you bunch of sheep just go home and shoot yourself in the head." (Congregation looks stunned) "April fools! I guess Jesus does love you after all!"

In a side tangent based on your idea for April Fools, there was an Outer Limits episode where some fundamentalists used the Shroud of Turin to get DNA to clone Jesus. Naturally, they don't tell the parents that the embryo is implanted in what was done exactly. Unfortunately the ending is kinda lame, after anticipating all sorts of interesting religious/ethical implications the kid is born and turns out to be psychic and the family runs off. Lame.
