Guess whose internet has been unstable since yesterday afternoon?
I was able to connect this afternoon, very briefly, but that wasn't working well (it took half an hour to download 5 e-mails, and webpages weren't loading regularly). Now I can't get on at all.
Part of my rent is supposed to be covering this service, but the longest that it seems to have been working is about two weeks, and it has never been perfectly reliable. Apart from the issues of simply being able to connect at all, I am able to get on icq about 30% of the time. I can usually get on to IRC, now that I know what the trick is (only certain ports are open, so I always hae to use 6667), but not always. I haven't been able to send mail out through eudora since I got online with my computer, though I can at least download it now. It does take a lot longer than it should.
On the other hand, the Airimba people have been working on all of these problems, and have been pretty helpful. I spent all afternoon yesterday trying to work out the Eudora issue with one of their senior IT staffers over e-mail (although he wans't able to identify the problem). It is just very frustrating...
Anyway, I will probably be late to game tonight, as a result, because I have some things to do at home that I wouldn't be able to work on in the lab. Grr.
