After staying up ridiculously late last night due to over caffeination, I got a call around 11:30 this morning (shortly after I'd gotten up) from Miss Megan, wherein she invited me to have brunch with her, her man, and another friend of theirs. I accepted and went over to generally socialize, eat (breaking my diet without even thinking about it until after the fact, whoops!), and play cards for a bit. I kicked ass at some game the name of which I forget that I had never played before (Oh Hell, or something like that?), beating my closest challenger by 20 points - go me! Also had a refresher on how to play rummy. Really all this has made me do is wish I had someone to play crib with, and I also have to say that I must credit Dad and Jennifer with any mad card-playing skillz I have picked up ;p
In any case, I got a drive back home when Megan went home to make some Tiramisu and go see some other friends for a bit. But I am going to go back out with the same crowd later (their other friend, Alyson, is having a party tonight and invited me to come along). I came home, ostensibly to do a little bit of work today, but really I mostly crashed like the 1929 stock market when I got in the door, though I have done a little reading. now i will write some, I guess, and then go out again in an hour or so.
So, yes, happy Down-With-King-George day to the Americans, and for the sake of my friends here I'll just ignore the fact that my home province was pretty much settled completely by Loyalists ;)
