Bah..

I have exams to mark this weekend, again. Only for the history 1051, though, not the class I usually sit in on. So, there are only about 50. I could probably do this in about an afternoon.

Other things I need to do this weekend include: finish reading Citizens of the World, read/skim Sir Julian Corbett's Some Principles of Naval Strategy, attend the MSA Halowe'en party(? I don't know where it is.. :p Or who all will even be there :p), and try to start gong through some Exquemelin. It has been far too long since I've gone through that book. I didn't use it for my thesis, because the detail is kind of sketchy and he didn't really talk about or mention flags much (from what I recall). Meh. I realized that I have about two weeks until my presentation for Dudley's class. Meh. I'm not worried about not being able to fill time (it's only about 20 min, and I could pull that out of my butt, I'm sure), I'm just worried that I won't have enough time to go through sources to get info to back up my claims. I could probably do an outline right now, but I have too much other crap this weekend. Michelle and Dina asked if I wanted to maybe go out on Saturday (since they aren't going to the party). I said maybe. But that means I have more stuff I need to get done today... and yet here I am, writing a pretty much pointless lj update. I wish I had some red boots. Also, I am trying to decide if I should use the red velvet cape or one of my Canadian flags, hmmm, thoughts? (For my costume)..

Also, people are starting to think that carl is mean, because of some things he says in class. I don't know.... I can't really take him seriously. I think they just don't understand the subtle Canadian sarcasm/facetiousness, and I don't know how to explain it. I guess I will just shake my head, resigned, and mutter 'silly Americans' under my breath.


I think I am going to go have a nap... or maybe I will just read until I fall asleep of my own accord, like I did yesterday :p Probably I will do marking tonight, but I am also hoping to make some phone calls... And of course, there will be the requisite faffing about on LJ :p

So heare I am, eating chili for dinner. I had it for lunch yesterday, and then forgot to have dinner... I have portionned and frozen the rest, anyway.

It is really good! I am going to tell you something though, that some may have heard before, but may seem strange to others. Next time you make chili, you should put in some cocoa powder. I' *am* serious! Some people are not going to be too put out by this suggestion (hi Shan ;) I'm sure, but others must think I am mad!

Trust me, though: in one batch of chili, try about 1-3 tablespoons (I went light in this batch). I can't really *describe* the flavour, but it is tasty, the end.

2. Called dad - he wasn't home but will call me tomorrow.
3. Called Bronwen and left message with her dad that she should tell me when she is going to be home so I can call her again ^-^
4. Called Jodie and Mr. Cat. Cat was CoHing, talked to him for a bit, then Jodie, who will also call me back tomorrow, since Nicole's mom called long distance (boo!)

7. Called Rob, then Julie and steve, but none were home. I hope they are having a good time :) Left Rob a vaguely lewd message about hotpants, but couldn't think of anything to leave for J&S. In retrospect, probably could have also said something lewd about hotpants... Next time!
8. Called Kay! She was very pelased to hear from me, and I am glad to have talked with her. She gave me parental lectures about going out and meeting new people, and also told me that I can do *ANYTHING* I want on Hallowe'en, and that it doesn't count. I was a little scared (People who know Kay will understand ;)
9. Called ceiridwen, since I was on a roll for calling people in Alberta (*shakes fist at Ontario*).
10. Made pointless lj update!

There are a couple of other people that I may call at some point this weekend, but it is getting late-ish, and I want to saee about getting things set up for the rest of my weekend, at least. I need to, um, sharpen pencils or something ;p

Anyway, according to my new long-distance plan that should have cost me... 7$ :) for two hours on the phone, more or less. Hooray!

I have just discovered (and really, I shoudl have known before) that there is an LJ community for people with really long hair, and for the cair of really long hair, etc... it is creatively called longhair I have joined it. I hope the pretty lady from the corsetry comunity doesn't think I'm stalking her ;)

Anyway... now I wish I had a picture of me with my hair down to post there... except a: I don't, and b: I don't have any space.... Can anyone help me with that?
