I got up before my alarm this morning and dug in to the huge pile of undergrad essays that I still had to mark. I pretty much haven't done anything else productive all day. I chatted with a few folks on IRC, made dinner, and did some half-assed dusting.

My dinner is tasty though! I made a casserole, because when I went to get lunch, I opened some soup before I remembered I have no milk. It has rice (basmati, 1 C uncooked, dunno how much cooked), cream of broccoli soup, some frozen broccoli, cheese (cheddar, cubed), and chicken ( 1 breast). I cut up the chicken into bite sized pieces after pounding it thin/tender (okay, really I just like to hit things and scare the neighbours ;). These pieces went into a skillet with some olive oil. While they were cooking, I added spices... ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a little garlic. Some of you may think I'm crazy at this point, but I say 'trust me!' Generations of Europeans who demanded spices from the far east for food preservation had to be on to *something* right? :)

It is very good. Actually, it would be nice with apple chunks baked in as well. It is kind of a pudding-y meal, but very tasty :)

Toinight, I am going to read more about Dutch Art and Culture (boo!) and try to work on my story (yay!)

Tomorrow will be more marking, plus a trip to the library, and then an evening of Solo time and slacking off. Sounds good! :)
