I've been working hard all day today. Really, I've been working all day on dissertation related things, but because of various things, like cracktastic software and my own foolishness, I haven't gotten as much done as I could have. I have not met my word quota for today or yesterday. Now, on the other hand, I'd say I *have* done, and even accomplished my *work* quota, with all the scanning and picture editing and appendix making and stuff... I really *can't* work on any writing until I'm done this stuff either.

Anyway, I suppose I'm satisfied with my accomplisments for this weekend. I've managed not to squander my day, and it has been quite long. I did watch an assload of sci-fi thisafternoon, but that was only like a three hour break. I've been up since ten and it is now almost three.

Anyway, as for the Nostalgia bit, I put up a topic related to the Old Days in #beastwars in #exia recently. And some guys from that channel who I used to know Back IN The Day are there now, pestering me in a somewhat endearing way. They may be lamers... but they are *my* lamers ;D Anyway, I need sleep. So I can do more work tomorrow, before Terry's game, yay :D

More on the vein of nostalgia from last night... The topic of this post is kind of an in-joke from the NuRPG days. I miss nu. But I've found that LJ is a great way to keep appraised of, well, at least some people's lives from that era, who have slipped away. Looking at my friends list, I've got the following breakdown: 17 people who I have actually met in real life. 14 people who are people I either met and know only through the internet (2 of whom I have met IRL and so overlap). And 2 people who I know of through the internet and whose journals I have added to keep up with various things that amuse me (Something Positive artist and Cassie Claire of the secret diaries fame). And the LJ maintenance people, but they don't count.

That's a pretty hefty friends list. But I'm glad that I've been able to keep in touch with so many people. I think all but one of my 'internet' friends I met through either the ffrpg or the nurpg, while they lived. I was afraid I'd lose touch with people, which I hate. Before LJ, I had only the vaguest idea what or where any of them might be.. up to. Weird grammar. Hem. And through them, I've been able to keep up with some other people too, like Mani, whose own webpage I've discovered through a link in

WATER OF AIR. You're aloof, depressed and seasoned. You'd make a good psychologist, executioner, black widow, arsenic poisoner, heretic queen or commentator. You're too witty for your own good. Have to get up early in the morny morn to fool you, as you spot lies a mile away. And WOE TO THOSE who dare attempt such a stupid move. You're Jamie Lee Curtis in Halloween, when she cuts Michael's head off. You're Anne Robinson, the host of The Weakest Link!
