Mmm, cream of asparagus...

I'm just waiting for a scan disk to finish on my hard drive before I go up and (hopefully) collect Mary for dance class. I say hopefully because they went out to do some errands and I'm hoping they are actually back by the time I get there, and that mary still has enough energy to go. They stayed up watching the Oscars last night. Right. Now, think of the time difference...

This scan disk would go much faster if I wasn't doing this, I know. But I'm bored. And no music either, bleh...

I started reading a book that mary lent me. Tam Lin, by Pamela Dean. It is part of the Fairy tale series. Now, I already know the story of Tam Lin. But this is set at a University. I'm actaully only two chapters in, but I can already sense how the story is going to go. Maybe it is because I do know the Tam Lin story, but partly not. Anyway. I like knowing what is coming. Not that I don't like surprises, but I prefer the secret satisfaction of knowing things before other people do. I know it drives Mary and Ian uts when we watch a crucial scen of Buffy and Angel, and I just smile and say "I knew that was going to happen". Hee hee! It is like... unwrapping christmas presents, then re-wrapping them, and not getting caught. Not that I've ever done that... ;D

Woot, scan disk done, time for one song, and then I go..
Music:: Grim Fairies - Water Shadows
Mood:: 'happy' happy

I'm jealous. I saw that book years ago and thought it looked interesting, but didn't buy it. Now I'm reading most of the Fairy Tale series and I can't find a copy anywhere. It's probably out of print, as are The Nightengale by Kara Dalkey (which I really really want since I love her other books set in Japan) and Snow White and Rose Red by Patricia Wrede (who I've loved for years and years because of the Enchanted Forest books).

Anyhow, it's always interesting to see other people reading books I'm curious about. ^_~

I read it when I was in high school, and really liked it. Think I may even still have a copy bumming around my mother's house somewhere, if I didn't sell it to Owl's Nest. Anyway, good book :)

You might be able to find a used copy via amazon or some other inernet based company... If you're really desperate, anyway :D I'll probably post my thoughts on it later. I've decided I am going to read something I *want* to read over my Easter break :)

Amazon, unfortunately, charges ridiculous prices for most things, so I think it's back to haunting used bookstores for me.

And I think everyone deserves to read something they really want to. ^_^
