Bah, this afternoon has been full of ups and downs. It turns out that Tar River *can* give me a 1 bedroom right from the start, due to a cancellation! Yay! For the record, since I think I forgot to mention it, I was going to have to stay in a 2 bedroom for the better part of a month until a 1 bed was free. Anyway, I was happy about that. they needed my lease right away, though, so they were gong to courier it to me, get me to sign it, and send it back. I was cool with that. I think the boo! here was that it means my lease technicaly starts this month instead of next, but *shrug*. I want a place to live, damnit!
Man I am so brain fried right now I'm having trouble *remembering* what all happened and it was only this afternoon!
I think I was tlaking wth Steve on ICQ when they called back. there was some issue with couriering from their end, but they e-maileme the lease so that I could print it, sign it, and sent it and my money back. I raced off to the back with a half hour to spare before they closed, thanking them for being open until six. I then went to the Stuporstore to get legal sized paper (bah!) and dinner (steak and salad. yum!). I came home as Hazel was leaving, and bribed Jodie with dinner. The deal being that she could walk to Mailboxes etc with me after we ate so that I could send the thing. So I go off to my room, and find out that C is back online! Yay! then I start the frustrating part. The part where I can't find Hazel's printer on the network. Or on her computer either. She isn't atcually hoem at this point.... Anyway, I had to take the thing (it is *big*, a combination dealy with fax, printer, scaner, etc) into my room, where there wasn't any room for it, and try to set it up, since I know the drivers are all installed. But then I *still* couldn't find it! Oh, the *frustration*! the *swearing*! Anyone who has seen me fight with inanimate objects will know. That is very few of you. Lets just say the printer is lucky is started to behave before it wound up in uncountable piles of fragments. It's fine, though, no worries!
Anyway, I did get it to work. Also, did I mention that a thunderstorm started then? So I could walk in the rain, or cab. And also, even though it seemed like it was a short document (only two pages), it was actually closer to twenty, once all the other stuff printed. Where did it come from? I'm not entirely sure. Anyway, I get it printed, and go to call a cab. Steve (the other Steve) calls, just as I was reaching to pick up the phone. I'm not sure if he is back from Ottawa yet... I think yes. It is for Jodie, of course! So I tell her that I was just going tocall a cab, and Steve tells her that he will call back, somewhat surly (well, maybe not *really* surly, sometimes it is hard to tell!), anyway, I call a cab, run down, sign the lease, and wait. Also, did I mention how it is all printed in blue ink because the printer is out of black? Meh.
Anywya, the cab comes, I hop in (it is pouring rain), and we go to the place, all the while making idle cab chitchat about what I'm doing, why I'm moving and so forth.
And I get to mailboxes. And it is *CLOSED*. I'm still not sure if that makes me want to kill or die, but there is certainly violence in my reaction. But I calm myself, and shell out the 10$ (9 really, but I gave a nice lazy tip) for a pointless ride. And go inside and try to submerge the stress (the *pointless* stress*) as I e-mail the Tar River lady (Kristy Surles! Only, she doesn't. She sounds very nice.) and say I can't send until tomorrow afterall, and try and get in character to play some Diablotin.
Did I mention also, how my day started when I woke up at 5 AM with a charlie horse and I am so tired I can hardly think at all? Shan said I should have a nap, even, but I never got one... :( Boo. :(
Ahh, well, maybe if I am lucky I will have *some* NPC's by the end of the night, or tomorrow when I wake up, at least, since I think I will go to bed fairly soon.
