I skipped my class this morning. I was awake enough to consciously make the decision not to go, and then I went back to sleep. When I woke up for real, I did some research for my dissertation. Which means I went through the biliography of one book, picked out the useful references, checked if we had them in our library here and got the call numbers, or write down the relevant info so that they could be ordered via inter-library loan. Then I went to my Glass Class, when I got to look at lots of pretty shiny things! For the record, the sort of iridescent look that a lot of 'art nouveau' glass, tiffany lamps and what not, have is inspired by the natural iridescence that glass picks up when it is buried for centuries. Something to confuse the future archaeologists, I guess.
Then I went to the library and check out the books and articles I had marked. One of them was very very long... And most of the articles were old... One is from 1935! But it has many good pictures for me :D
After that I rushed home to drop stuff off and change, and go not to bellydance as per usual, but to meet some of the medieval society people to go ice skating! I *love* ice skating. It is probably my favourite 'winter' sport... I'm a competent but not fancy skater. I remember when they used to flood the tennis courts near my house, and I would go there at like ten at night with my walkman and skate for an hour all by myself... Anyway, tonight we stayed there for about 2 hours, I thought my ankles were going to snap off by the end of it, though. Maybe I'll go more, now that I know where it is... Even if I do go alone, I do so love to skate, and it is cheap! I tried to convince Mary and Ian that it is fun, but they didn't seem convinced... I'll have to take Longpig when she comes ^-^
After that, I was a good girl and went and did homework for tomorrow's class. Which is to say, I went to visit Mary and Ian and watched an episode of Time Team they had taped for me. Then we generally hung out, until I came home, and wrote this. And that was my day. I'm tired now. I should go to bed. But first, I have some things I need/want to do on the 'net...
