I don't really like sports.

But at ECU, the football team is called The Pirates, and they have a like-named stadium.

They have another sports team (Basketball, maybe?), and they are called the Minges. Yes. The Minges! Well, okay, it is the Minges Maniacs. And they play in Minges Coliseum!

...Minge!

Edit: Oh, and they also have a residence hall called Slay!

Peninsula College, where I went for a year, was the Pirates as well. We had the Pirate Union Building (PUB) and our newspaper was the Buccaneer. Arrrr!

"Almost $11.5 million was spent to replace the playing surface of Minges (http://www.lib.ecu.edu/SpclColl/Archives/bminges.html), add seating to seat 7,500 people, add air-conditioning, new lighting, and new locker rooms."

Yep, looks like they're a basketball team (http://www.mingesmaniacs.com/).

My High School teams were all "The Marauders" with a suitably tasteless pirate mascot. The student paper was "The Broadside". Anearby town was the "Raiders", also with a pirate theme.

What is a Minge?

I liked my high school's theme -- the Highland Park Scots. Our mascot, when drawn, was an angry scotsman. We didn't have a costumed mascot at games; just guys in kilts running with the flag. The football stadium was Highlander Field, and the baseball stadium was Scotland Yard (a teriffic name for a baseball field if you ask me).

A minge is a British term for a lady's naughty bits ^-^ Or naughty bit hair....

Which may or may not make the term "minge fringe" redundant.

Scotland Yard isn't very Scottish. It's a London Police headquarters. ;)
