We were checking on the willas this morning. We'd had to move Valeska, Vix, and their mom, Macy, into a different cage the other day when I was holding Valeska outside the cage to her mom, and she promptly hopped back in through the bars like they weren't there. Chinchillas are really good at squirming, and can fit into any space they can get their heads through.

We moved her into the cage that we thought had the smallest bars. However, apparently, they are still too far for her tiny little head. We checked this morning, and Valeska was gone! We swore and tried to figure out where she might be.

Then, Jodie just happened to glance into the cage on which hers is resting... the homo cage. And yup, there she was, sitting up on he third shelf like there was no potential whatsoever that jealous, angry homo boys might attack or try to kill her. They didn't actually seem to care that she was there at all. She couldn't have been gone too long, either, as she was still as frisky as ever, and went back in with her mom with no trouble.

I guess it is kind of good that we *know* we don't have a cage with bars small enough to keep in week old baby willas, but not so good because we don't have one that will. Hmmmm...
