Gaming is one of my most favourite things to do. I am addicted to stories in all forms, really, but tobe an active participant in one where I don't get to or have to decide every little thing that goes on, or necessarily be the one who is in charge of having things make sense, is really incredibly enjoyable. I've been a GM before, and I do enjoy it as well, but the responsability is much greater than that involved in playing. I have a lot of respect and gratuitude for all of the people who run or have run games for me in the past.
Right now, I have the priviledge of being involved in several quality games (Diablotin, Exia, Perseity, Terry Hates Us, Terry Tactics) all run by people who are doing great jobs at making them uniquely fun and highly engaging. I would like to give props to all of my most excellent GMs!
I understand all the time, effort and investment that goes into running, if only in part because I try to put these things into my playing as well, and having a good GM makes it a much more rewarding experience. I know that it takes a lot of work for the GM's to provide that kind of experience for multiple players as well, and I think I'm lucky to haveother good people to play with as well. A lot of my games rely pretty heavily on PC interaction for the advancement of things, and you really can't do that without good players. And really, I can and have done roleplaying bits for all of those games with no GMs around at all, so I know for sure we've got a good bunch!
All that being said, I kow that some games take more commitments than other to run and to play, so the people who run them should get even more props, but you all know who you are, yes? :D
