With everything going on, I forgot that today (pkay, well, yesterday) is(was) my anniversary. Tenth, I believe. Shame on me. Joel evben sent me a reminder! Of course, I got that mail the night before I wrote the GRE, so, I guess I was a bit distracted at the time.
Speaking of the GRE, I'm sure some of you are dying to know how much effect your well wishing had ;) Well, I did get sprung with two quantitative (math) sections, so, not enough! ;) I actually managed to pull off a 630/800 thogh, which was above the mean, which was somewhewre around 550. In the verbal section, I got a 710/800, where the mean was about 470. I won't know about the analytical writing for about another two weeks, but I am quite confident that I did well on those bits. In all honesty, I almost lost it on the math bits. YOu have 28 questions, and 45 minutes. I can *do* math, but not quickly. I *loathe* timed tests like that. I actua;l;y did a lot of guessing, but I suppose I must have guessed decently, or I'd have gotten a lot worse.
After you have written the test, you have five minutes to decide if you want to keep your scores. If you decide not to, you never get to know what you got, and you have then paid for the test (about 175 american), and the hotel room (about 200 CAD... the closest empty one was expensive, but nice) for nothing. In the end, I decided to keep them, apparently, and had the scores sent to ECU, so that they can look at them once I have all my other material together and sent out. I can probabkly go and order my UNB transcrip soon, and I am hoping I can order my Sheffield one easily over the internet. *crosses fingers*
I was able to put up posters and such in my room today, which meand they are no longer lying dangerously on my floor, to get destroyed. I need some more character art, hint hint.
The other thing I did today (well, beside watching Underworld and thinking it a Larper's wet dream, and also thinking loads about how much I want to play Diablotin, all the time ;) is getting ready for the courses I am supposed to be teaching next welk. well, that I am going to be teaching, I should say. I feel woefully underprepared, for some of them at least. I'm confident of the honours course, befcause it is a seminar and I don't have to do all the talking. I am okay on the archaeology and religion bits, and very confident about the art gallery trip ;) It is the other First year course, mostly, that I am worried about... The second Intro to Religious Studies, where Mike wants me to just carry on with what he was teaching, mostly. I'm not really certain, because he has changed his mind a few times about what I am gong to be talking about in both his classes. Well, we'll see. I am going to make some notes tonight before I go to bed, and some more tomorrow, since the class isn't until 3:30. yay for afternoons... PLease wish me luck with this, and also, advice if you have any is appreciated ^-^
I also need to see about getting in touch with Dr. Lovell and Dr. Black and seeing if they would be wiling to sit in on a class. I should have done this weeks ago, but really, I have been too busy to think about it, let alone actually get it done. Or at least, that sounds valid :p
I'll be glad, I think, after Tuesday, when I will have a better feel for how I am going to keep up with this, and even better on Friday, when I do nothing all day, and then just work in the booth at night, and don't have to worry about *planning* for anything.
yeek. I hope that covered everything.

GRE
As for your courses, don't worry, because you will pull the old 'cloak of competence' trick that always fools the undergrads. They'll be so busy writing down every damn fool thing you say that they won't have time to think, "Hmm, I wonder how many hours she spent preparing this lecture?" As long as you don't tell them how unprepared you are, they'll never know.
