Today I went to a 'meeting' with Shan and Kathryn, where we officially formed a dance troupe with the horribly punnish name of 'In Da Nile'. I couldn't think of anything better (I'm no good with names on the fly unless they are very boring ones liek 'Jeremy' or 'Terri'. I figure, it at least isn't a complete stereotype name as it does not contain either 'belly' or 'gypsy' or some variation of 'hip' (hippy, etc), nor is it a translation of something in Persian or Arabic, which is a language none of us can speak/pronounce properly. We also discussed ideas for hosting a workshop sometime this fall. We need a place, some teachers, a date, etc. We do have some ideas.

After that was through, we walked around a bit, directly inquiring into some places for space for the shop, and also for practicing. We wound up back at Shans, where we continued discussing things, and boooked an over-priced place to dance at the Boyce Farmer's Market on July 5th. I hope it is worth it :p We also discussed what we would do for the Goth Ball performance in September, which I think will rock. I need to get fabric and etc for a costume. Mom has said in the past that if I help her clean her sewing room I could host a Stitch and Bitch, which is cool, because it would be a perfect space... It has a sewing machine *and* a serger, and also big flat cutting places (when they are de-cluttered, anyway). Shan also lent me a big pair of zills (finger cymbals) to practice with, which rocks, because I love them and would love to be able to dance well with them. I promise I won't practice when you are home, [livejournal.com profile] longpig ^-^

Speakin' of whom, she came to collect me fter mom picke me up from work, and we all went to the Burrito for dinner. Mmmm, burrito. I love that place. So tasty! I think I will leave a resume with them, once I fix it up. Also some call centers and Hazel's old job, and the lotto booth, and Chapters... I am pretty much resigned to having to give up some of my evening activities at this point, and it makes me sad. Although, if I were to get into Chapters, I could switch to only days in the fall probably. Hmm, we shall see.

After the tasty dinner, I came home, and so did my newly formatted computer, with newly installed Win98 and ethernet card. Hazel and I fussed about getting the router set up, and successs! We now have separate computers, yay! Although, my set up kind of suck hard ass, as I have to prop up the keyboard on my knees (which will will do wonders for my typing, I'm sure, although this is an awesome keyboard) and have an uncomfortable chair and my monitor is a bit precariously balanced on The Robert Collins French Dictionary and the Abbey Library edition of The Complete Works of William Shakespear.

After that little ordeal was over with, off we went to Jodie's! She wanted us to make characters for a Changeling game she is hoping to run, and also Matthew was over there getting sloshed. So we went, but just as we were leaving, my uncle called and told mom that my grandmother is in the hospital. She left for Moncton a little bit later, and I still don't know what is going on. I should check the phone messages, I guess :/ Anyway, at Jodies, fun progressed, we mostly sat around chatting about various things, working on characters (I made a Boggan who aspires to being a valet at a post hotel so he can drive lot of really posh cars for free ^-^). André called, but we told him we didn't want to go to his smelly house. He said he was going to call Shan and Dave... We tried to call them first, but no luck... and it seemed like they weren't home anyway (no answer when we called again), so, lucky them. ;) After that, we thought about going to the Gay Bar. Eventually, we did so, but it was dissapointingly lame :/ There was, in Jodie's words "A couple of people playing pool and one hetero couple making out on the dance floor". We left. Bah! We picked up a stray on the way home, too. A guy named Fraser (Frazier?) who I vaguely recall from my last year in the Blue Room. He followed us right into Jodie's house, all uninvited like :o But he left, so it was okay.

After that, we chatted a bit more, partly about the idea of me recording a half-hour Pirate show for CHSR, tentatively called 'Avast!'. I would have a Pirate of The Month, and have details about said pirate, plus ramndom pirate facts, and readings from pirate books (hmmm, reviews?), and maybe soundclips from pirate movies and so on, maybe a fake call in time with pirate-y questions, and of course, Sea Chanties! I think I could do it, especially if I got someone to tech for me in the recording studio so I didn't have to go through stupid training. I am actually getting pretty excited about this idea, and will probably start reasearching stuff for the first bit. I can record all the mnonthly episodes in one shot, which will be even better. And, so no-one feels dissapointed, all the CHSR programming is broadcast over the internet so even folks far far over the ocean blue could have a listen and learn about these fascinating sea folk. Arrr!

Could I be a male pirate voice on your show so I can stick it on my acting resume? We can write it up so it looks like its a real credit!
