Yarr!
What can I say? I'm in a pirate-y mood lately because, well, I'm researching pirates. If you don't like it, you are reading the wrong Livejournal! :D
So, Ken Kinkor is not only prompt with e-mailing stuff, but he is very friendly :D He send me a picture from the Ile Saint Marie pirate graveyard, even! It is later than my period, but interesting none-the-less. It has a very happy looking skull and crossed bones on it, and dates from the early nineteenth century. The epitaph reads "Joseph Pierre Lechartier, ne a Dulce, Dep. dela Manshe 1738, arrive sur la (ile? possibly type of boat name, in French ;p) La Normande le 1 Novembre 1782. Mort at S- Marie le 14 Mars 1834. Par som ami Hulin (Picture of skull and crossedbones with sperm-like apostrophe squiggles) Passant prier pour lui."
Poor guy died on St. patty's day :o Anyway, it was cool.
Any the happy fun people at ferncanyon press helped me find him! I already said yay to them, but I say it again! They have an awesome store there too. They have *pirate airfresheners* yes! really!

and other cool stuff, like ties, and flags, and umbrellas, and bandannas that make me think of Dean!

It is all there.
And I think I know how to embed links now, but I think it involves actually downloading the thingy, as opposed to always updating just from the net. *hop* I'm not that ambitious...
Also, I found a really tasty black bean stir-fry sauce that tastes like Mei's, mmmmm...
All in all a good day. I even had cookies for breakfast! mmm. Mary's chocolate chip/chunk cookies... And I worked on making leather boots for medieval stuff! I have an awl! Life is good, wooh!
