I didn't post the last few days because I was busy devouring Martha Wells' new book, and the last of the Books of the Raksura, The Harbors of the Sun.
It was great! The story resolve, finally, quite satisfactorily, and the character stuff was also excellent. I kind of want to re-read the first one, The Cloud Roads, so I can fully appreciate how far things have come. There was stuff that I was hoping for based on the last book that was realized, and in some cases I got even more that I was hoping for! I'm satisfied and happy but also sad both that the book is over and that I know she isn't planning on publishing more about the characters. However She said she will do some more stuff o the Patreon, so I have that to look forward to at least!
I think my mulberry dying saga is over....for now. My yarn is dry, and I just need to take pictures. I'm debating doing a test for colourfastness but I'm kind of afraid of what will happen after all that work :p I still need to work out what the yardage if yarn I have is and what I can even make with it. I've done the counting, I just need to find out what the length is of one loop and do the math. I'm hoping I have enough to make a tanktop but I'm not super hopeful because I'm not super small and I like the to come down over my hips. Depending on close I am I am contemplating getting a skein of plain cotton worsted and dyeing it, also with mulberries but making sure it does *not* get any iron, and using is as the final gradient... we'll see, I guess! I kind of like the idea of one garment with three colours from the same plant, but I'm learning that cotton is kind of a pain.
Hmmmm, what else do I have to report? I don't have any stories on the go atm, thiough I *did* enter a tumblr exchange and so I have a Voltron story to write once I figure out the best way to approach it. The exchange is supposed to be 'pg-13' rated which means I need to think through my ideas and make sure they don't go too dark on me. Probably some recip stalking is in order?
Not 100% sure what I am doing with the rest of my day - no Thirteen, but maybe some other kind of game?
