...old in-joke I expect none of you will get ;p

Okay, I just burned a pan of muffins. I got too distracted by Diablotin. Damn that fascinating game! It wasn't even my turn! In fact, I *didn't* burn (burninate?) the muffins that were in the oven when it was my turn...

I guess it could be counted as a good thing that I only have one half-dozen pan :o On the flip side, I hope to have at least eight tasty, fresh-baked, banana-chocolate chip muffins, made from scratch. (It would have been nine, but I already ate one ;) It took me less than twenty minutes to get the first ones in the oven too, and I was remembering the recipe off the top of my head, and I don't have an electric mixer. Am I a super Boggan or what? ^-^

In other news, and also speaking of Bogganing... That is what I'm going to be doing in Thursday! Being a kitchen Boggan again. I have booklets I need to read, even. (There are manuals on Bogganing, you say? Yes, yes there are. One of them even talks about safe knife handling ;) They are specific on how to be an ESM (East Side Mario's) Boggan though. Top Secret ;D

It was *amazingly* warm out today. *Amazingly*. I'd guess it was over +10. Short-sleeve shirt weather, certainly. Everything was all melty. Thankfully, none of the melty-ness has seeped into our basement, though. 'Cause that's where I am now. At the computer. Arr. See my point? Thought so ;)

I'm i a very bubbly mood tonight. It *might* just be the weather, but I don't know. I went to the gym after my orientation (basically it was Gord(on), my boss, showing me around the building. It is a *huge* restaurant. The biggest in the chain. It seats over 800 people, at full capacity, and is always top three or so in sales). Hem. yes, I went to the Gym! I even did weights again. I was really not in a gym-mood all last week, so even though I made myself go twice, I only did weights once. Also, for the record, I have to disagree with Dave. I *heart* the elliptical trainers, if for no other reason that I don't have to schedule myself to go in and use them. Also, the cardio room here usually has tv and music and stuff, so it isn't as boring. I keep meaning to go in early one day and see if I can run a full hour while watching the A Team ;)

After that, I walked home, made muffins, etc. I'm still all hyper, too :o The walk home was both invigorating, and a bit depressing. I actually loathe early spring. It is soooo ugly, all the dirt uncovered, what was once white-ish (at least) snow now turned completely crusty and brown, or even black. And all newly-uncovered dead lawns. Some of them looked mouldy... Eww. Also, the air was kind of depressing. It was very hazy. In the winter, it never seemed to be very smog-y, but I now wonder what the summer will be like. Maybe it was just that there was too much humidity in the air. I mean, even Sheffield, a *steel industry* city had cleaner air, generally, that what it was like out there today :/ But still! It was a promise of better, warmer days to come, so I am still happy, despite the downside. Oh, btw, spring smells *bad*.

And, as if this entry isn't going to be long enough already, I give you my muffin recipe!

Basic muffin batter:

1/2 C margarine
1 C flour
2 eggs
1 C Brown sugar
1/4 C white Sugar
1/3 C oil
1 C Milk
3 tsp Baking Powder
1 tsp Baking Soda

Then you can add whatever to it for flavouring! And I mean whatever! About a half a cup of whatever. You can mix in peanut butter, or fruit, or even jam, pieces of candy, go nuts! If you want to make your muffins chocolate, take 1/3 C of cocoa, and add some oil to it until it is runny and the cocoa isn't lumpy, and voila, chocolate muffins :D It is a very good, and a very versatile recipe. The batter will easily last a weekend, up to three days, even, in the fridge and still be good. The muffins have a pretty good shelf life too, and hey, they sell really well ;)

Arg. I got so distracted writing that I almost burninated my last three muffins into ruination! They are a bit dark, but edible, I guess. I wouldn't serve them to guests, though ;)

In other news, today was another big mail day, bringing me another letter from [livejournal.com profile] longpig, my TD Line of Credit bill, and a letter from the Student Loan people saying that I owe them, like, 250$ still from that cock-up of theirs in England. Grr.
