I had two really weird dreams, and I'm not sure how coherent I can even pretend to make them sound.
Some kind of Mythbusters-esque or Believe It or Not program was coming to A&M, to Kyle field. I went with
earis - in fact we might have even needed to go for some reason. They were doing a show on *something*, but we weren't sure what and they wanted some pics of people milling about in the field. There were not as many Aggie staff around as were needed, and no one really seemed to know what was going on. They did some voice overs about Kyle field, talking about the largeness of American football stadiums (and in my dream, KF was one of the largest), and about their general architecture and so forth. Except that wasn't what they were supposed to do - they were kind of killing time - it was sort of a semi-live audience show, I guess. In any case, people (workers) were trying to track down someone who had a key to the wave tent (a mythical dream invented side structure covered by a large tarp).
Eventually most of the crowd dispersed, but then another Aggie worker showed up, and she sorted out who had the key to the wave thingy. It was Leslie! I don't know who that was. Anyway, this chick was a swimmer, and apparently it was a wave *pool*. Only it wasn't. And apparently what they were really there to film was something about WIZARDS! So Ian McKellen was there as Gandalf, which probably explains
earis's and my presence. They set it up to look like he was casting a spell. There was a woman there, about his age, who in my dream might have supposed to be his wife (apparently my dreams are into denying people their sexuality). He was kind of confused and needed her to sort of coach him through what he needed to do. So he goes out and 'casts a spell', and it creates this spinning ring of water as a barrier through which animals (and suddenly this is a forest and we are surrounded by, like, angry bears, bunnies, and badgers)! It was really cool. It was maybe supposed to have been Science, but afterward Claire and I found the book that Sir Ian's 'wife' (or maybe his beard, ha ha) had been showing him, and it really looked kind of like a spell. All I remember is that he had to wave his staff around octagonally.
I was in a car - not just any car, my my mom's red 1989 Nissan Sentra, with her driving, and a bunch of people in the back. I think it was
earis again, Ryan A that I met in NOLA from
skjaere's crew, and
chiv, but the last two kind of in and out and while present, didn't do much. I had Jola with me. We were driving back from somewhere - really we were driving out along the Lincoln road from Fredericton to Gagetown, along the St. John river. We had heard hat some country had accidentally detonated a (nuclear?) bomb that was hidden in the are, but we thought that was silly and implausible. I forget where we were going, if I ever knew. maybe we were on our way to or from the bit in the last dream? In any case, as we were driving along the stretch of the experimental farm (which I can see so clearly in my head even if I can't describe it), coming up to the forest, we saw a white and red rocket launch directly into the sky. I think *I* told people not to worry as it wouldn't hit us as we drover by, because of its parabola. But somehow it went up, and broke apart almost lite a rocket ship, releasing this giant red netting parachute which directed it to fall right straight back down again. It was quite far away, and I started to worry about it hitting the road or us. It landed way ahead of us, out of sight still, but it *was*, in fact, a bomb (not a nuke, though), and the huge shockwave rolled back towards us. I remembering sheltering Jola as all the glass in the car windows broke.
Mom and this really determined and stressed look on her face and didn't say anything. She kept driving, because suddenly the road was full of all this debris and other obstacles and she was going to fast to just stop. In fact there was a water cooler (thing the thing that Wakko, Yakko and Dot lived in, only smaller and red) lying across the road. She sped up to get of the road with enough momentum to carry us around it over the grass before it rolled forward and crushed us. The next thing was too big though, and it rolled into us, stopping the car. No one was hurt though, and the car was still drivable. We were stopped by some RCMP who directed us to an emergency shelter - which was a dog kennel. It was actually a huuuge bar divided into different rooms and filled with stacked wire dog kennels. We were told that some of the kennels had been cleaned out for human use. there were a lot of dogs though - including Jola *and* the Plot Puppy (see
wererogue's journal for that one. I stuck Jola in one, and we tried to get a sense of what was gong on.
Later we took her for a walk, only now it was storming. LeeAnne showed up, dressed in her blue foulie top (hardcore boat rainclothing) and a skirt and heels, almost looking like a navy officer. She's been recruited because of her merchant marine license and was helping out with the water based emergencies (on the river maybe?), and had heard that we were nearby and wanted to check up on us. We were talking about something, Jola was peeing in the rain, ...and then my alarm went off.
Weird! Thank you food poisoning! I feel better today though :)
