elanya: Sumerian cuneiform 'Dingir' meaning divine being/sky/heaven (Arrr!)
Okay, that was a bit more complicated than I had expectd.

It turns out printing services has been swamped with Dissertations. If I had gotten there earlier, I could have gotten it done by Friday, but as is, they couldn't get it done until Monday.

"But!" I panicked, "I'm leaving the country on *Sunday*!"

"That's okay," Printing Services Lady replied, "We can post it to you and your department!"

"Yay!" I exclaimed.

She smiled. "We can send two copies to the graduate research building. When is the other one going?" She peered at the form I had filled out.

"Canada," I replied cautiously.

"..." Printing Services Lady paused. "That's not a problem, but I don't know how much the postage will be. We'd have to take it to the post office and get them to weigh it. Can you come back later on this afternoon, or tomorrow?"

Bugger, I thought to myself, I really don't want to have to walk back doen here this afternoon... And if I come back tomorrow, they might only be able to do it by Tuesday! I need a plan.

After another moment's thought, I had a suggestion. "How about I take it down to the post office now and get a quote?"

Printing Services Lady smiled again. She was very helpful and nice. Why can't she go and work for New Brunswick Student Loans? I wondred, and the answer hit me all too quickly: Oh, wait, she's competent. "That would be fine. And we don't inconveniently close over lunch, either!"

So I took my dissertaions away. I wanted to make sure it was okay to get them delivered, so I stopped by West Court, where they would be sent, to see if the secretaty was in. She was still out sick, so I went over to the department to see if any of my professors were in. Maureen was, and she said it was all groovy, just make sure that they are marked attention to Katherine (the secretary). We talked for a bit because I was leaving. She told me she would always remember my pirate outfit. I like maureen. She is from Canada, and she has a good sense of humour. I think she may have wanted to hug me, but I am a hug wary person. Possibly something I get from my sister.

After that, I went and waited in line at the post office. I got my quote, and back to Printing Services. There was a new Printing Services Lady, but she was equally helpful, if a little confused by math. In the end, to get three copies bound, and to get one copy mailed to Canada cost me a total of twenty-four pounds. The paper I used was 8 pounds for 500 pages (I probably used between 350 and 400). So... call it 32 pounds. About what, 70-80 dollars Canadian? *sigh*

Anyway, the advantage of all this is that I don't have to do anything more with it. It's all been handled. I have no work left that I have to do here at all, it is all play time! Now I just need people to play with, hmmm...

I think I'm going to go take a nap, if I can sleep, so that I can be awake for pub and Exia.

And yes, in the acknowledgements section of my paper, the title of this post does appear. Arr!
