mmm. cookies!
Nothing like baking at midnight :D
It's been a long day! I minigolfed and hung out with anth peeps again (minus Laura, obviously), and had Thai and all is good with the world! We also watched a bizarre British comedy about some out of work actors (Withnail & I). There were also really cute cats, Jasper and Jones, belonging to Kim and Nate, which was the only medium downside - I was unprepared for cats, and my allergies have been predictably bothering the crap out of me.
The only other downside to all this being out and about I've been up to lately is that I haven't been doing any studying! I guess I can do some now - it is too late to start writing, and cookies will be too disruptive. Strangely, I concentrate a lot better on things that *aren't* at my computer :p Anyway. If I am good tomorrow I should be able to get Pieces out on time and thus be *officially* caught up and on schedule. Wooh! In more exciting news, I think I have even figured out a major plot point that had previously completely stymied me.
Pieces is hard to write for a number of reasons. First, Daniel is really detail oriented. I have to know things specifically, and I don't always want to make things up. Secondly... I don't have an actual timeline for any of it, which is odd because Daniel is very conscious of time. But I've never even given much indication as to which season it is set in. I think it must be set in 2006, though. I think I've trapped myself on that point with things like Victor's car. It could be later, but I don't think it *should* be. Generally, I want this to be a believable World of Darkness. I've stolen some bits of WoD continuity (Calcutta, for instance, which may be an obtuse reference as I've yet to explain that ;). I haven't sorted out what kinds of parallels there are between that WoD and our modern world either, which I probably ought to do, and Dan explicitly pays attention to news and world events... blither blither blither. Right, gonna go study :)
