I have a few minutes before we go to lunch, in theory, so I thought I would take a moment to collect some thoughts about what I need to do in my e-mails.
I want to find a way to connect a more human element to a landscape survey - the history will definitelly help with this, and I do think it is exciting. I am definitely more interested in the 1500-1800 period, especially as there has been so much work done on the enclosed docks. Maybe also investigating the effects of the explansion of the British empire on the international influence on the areas, etc? I don't know, but the effects of colonialism are interesting, also... identity identity identity! Damnit! I want to get a better idea of who the people were, and how they thought of themselves. Landscape is definitely influential in this, as is material culture... So how do I bring this all together and write both extra thesis chapters *and* an amazing proposal before April? :/ I'll manage somehow. Blargh. Money is also an issue...
As for A&M, I need to tell them to yes please put my name in the hat for an INA Scholarship!
Rar.
I guess that is just about it for now. Lunch soon! So hungry ;_;
Muuuuch later:
I have sent e-mails and so forth, and am going to work on chapter revisions for a bit before I head off to listen to the lecture on people in Ireland! And then I will return and eat dinner, and work more, yay!?!
