On the off-chance...

Is there anyone out there who might be interested in going to a concert with me, in Asheville? :p Maybe? someone? ;_; It is only 14$, I'd help pay for gas and room if necesry...

It is The Decemberists! On Sept. 29...

Edit: Lets make this into a more generally music related post.

First off, I am wondering if anyone out there mught be interested in exchanging mixed CDs? I have a slew of stuff that I can play with, if you ant to do themes, or if you are curious about any of the stuff I listen to, or if you want to sample anything I've got, or if there is something I have that you *know* you want... whatever. Anyone?

Second, I am wondering if anyone knows of decent free software for recording voice tracks?

Thanks :)

I'd be happy to exchange mix CDs, though we'd have to think of some way to avoid sending each other all music the other one already has ;) Themes might be interesting.

My computer, she still does not play the sound. :(

(But Steve was talking to Rob last night about getting it.)

I actually did get it today, although I haven't used it yet.

Hells yes with the mix cds :) I want all your John Renbourne/Pentangle and similar! And I'm curious about The Decemberists too...so, yeah, definitely!

for voice recordings I use Audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/) -- which I believe has a Windows version. I have a mac, and I've used it to record, for example, the sound when I was on the train going between Tilehurst and Reading (on laptop of course) -- and annoying people talking at coffee shops ;) It's a little weird for simple stuff sometimes, but you can do multiple tracks and export in a variety of file formats. Hope that helps :)

It's 100 times better (clearer) than any phone line I've had here!

any ideas for good themes?

In other news, I've been readingf so much about pre-revolution France lately, that it mmade me think of Diablotin, and how a historian might write about the events, characters, and themes of the games.... It was a fun little exercise :) I'm a dork ^-^

Dunno... maybe gaming character or campaign-related themes could be fun? That way, even if I knew/already had a given song, I'd be interested to see which songs you picked, if that makes sense. Or we could try some fairly broad themes, like 'war' or 'love' or something that would make it less likely we'd be able to guess right away what songs would be picked.

And yes, you are a dork. *loves*
