elanya: Sumerian cuneiform 'Dingir' meaning divine being/sky/heaven (Default)

I know I have hardly updated at all in the last week. Many apologies to any of you who actually care. I've been off frolicking, with [livejournal.com profile] longpig, [livejournal.com profile] xypharan, visiting from afar, and also with [livejournal.com profile] ladysylkie and her boy :D. It's been tones of fun, really. I can't even remember everythng we did. We went to a bunch of movies, we went to York, we went to a goth club, and then me and my Canadian attendants went to Aberysthwyth, which was absolutely amazing... See Longpig's entry about it here. She covers just about everything, although I will add a few things. The castle is right downtown, and I guess because of its state of disrepair, it isn't a protected monument at all. So we were alowed to climb all over it, and so we did! Castle climbing = fun. Xyphy wanted to try and climb up one of the remaining towers through the portculis gate, but he was too big. He did try though, as much as Longpig (and myself to a lesser extent) tried to discourage this somewhat suicidal adventure.
The only other thing she didn't mention was also the only stressful part of the trip. See, last year, she dropped her camera in the water, and though one of her lenses had been fine for a long time afterwards, the little leaves inside it that close the aperature were quite rusted, and have started sticking. I have proved able for most of this trip to beat the thing back into submission, but our first night there, we had a little bit of a scare when we thought it might not have been completely fixed. So we got the last roll of film taken developed, but it was fine. Phew! At least it is the cheapest lens, anyway, so she won't have to wait as long before she can replace it. I had a cheap little camera from my grandmother (no focusing or anything on it... it is basically a refilable disposable camera, if that makes any sense), so I got some pictures too, which I have been ordered to scan once I get them developed. Miao.

We got back in to Sheffield at 1 last night, walked home, and they had to pack. We all stayed at my place. I slept on the floor, which was much less uncomfortable than I expected. I'm not even sore this morning :o. We got up around six, packed up the rest of their stuff, and headed up to the tram stop. They were just perfectly on time for the 7:10 train to Manchester Airport, and I came home and slept some more.

I got up around noon, tied up the mess in here somewhat, did laundry, and took a shower. Now I'm going to get some real food (Maybe nachos) and finish tidying while I wait for my stuff to come out of the dryer and then go to my 3:30 class. I think I'm running my vampire game tonight, too :o
