I just spent 70 pounds, on various things. I bought a young person's railcard. That will help me save some cash in the long run, but it did just cost me 18 pounds... and then my actual tickets to London! Yes, I guess I really am going, next Friday. I leave at 7:40, get to Greenwich at 11:07, then to the museum for a good four or five hours. I hope that if I stay focused, I shouldn't need any more time than that, and it saves me from having to pay for accommodations, making the whole venture that much cheaper. And then I leave Greenwich at 7:27 and get back to Sheffield at 10:40. Long day :o Hopefully it will be productive at least!
That wasn't my only expenditure, though. I had to pay my phone bill, buy some charges on my laundry card, pay for some passport pictures, pick up some toiletries, and I bough a sandwich, a drink, and some cheap cream eggs because I was starving.
Tomorrow, I am going to the Gaming Nationals. I don't have to pay for lodgings, but I will be putting in some cash towards the carpooling, plus food as well. I think I've already paid my entry fee, so that is okay. It should be interesting. I've never participated in competitive gaming before, and to top it off, I've signed up for 'open random', so I have no idea what I'm going to be playing! You sign up to 'compete' in different categories, see, like Fantasy, sc-fi, LARP, and so on, I think some of the categories are done by system, though, I've no clue how they are judged, but it is on things like roleplaying, working with the party, and so forth. The university that wins has to host the next year, so we are actually hopping not to win, because Sheffield doesn't have a big enough club, really. I keep thinking of it as being a big convention, only with trophies. wooh!
