Today,
fishmalk asked me about my favourite ways to relax. This is a simpler topic than some of the others, so you're not getting a cut!
First off, I'm not a particularly anxious person, and for the most part I'm pretty chill. So 'what I do to relax' is more a general sort of relaxation. I do like a bit of time to decompress when I get back home from work and such - if you count that as relaxation, I'll go with mindless internet consumption - scrolling through facebook to see what I've missed, checking out LJ and DW posts, and so on: Absorbing rather than producing, or absorbing without participating in a way that requires me to directly engage.
There are a lot of things I enjoy doing, but I don't know if they are specifically things I do in order to relax - that seems like it should be different than just 'things you enjoy as a hobby'. I like to knit but that can be frustrating as well. Same with writing, and other hobbies - they aren't really 'things I do to relax' necessarily. If I am actually stressed about something, music can help, as can reading, but the best thing is distraction from outside stimuli - so basically hanging out with people I know and like, either in person or online. Other things I can find relaxing - Tea? Baths? Reading? Naps? I think in some ways I am not a big 'relaxer' - I'm more inclined to seek stimuli than avoid them. I suppose this self-perception may not jive with what other people say, and if you've noticed any different, feel free to tell me!
I still have slots remaining, especially later in the month: (On DW|On LJ)
