Man, I think if the powers that be had sat down and tried to design a musical group specifically to cater to my tastes, they couldn't have done much better than the Decemberists!

This new CD is losely framed around one of my favourite ballads (The Drownet Lovers), including one track that is pretty much drawn from it specifically. it also has elements of some of my other favourites, like Tam Lin. It's enchanting, and I love it to pieces. There is a choir of murdered children!! A fairy queen! It ends in tragedy! (Come on with a name like that you can't be surprised! Especially considering the song it is drawn from).

Oh Decemberists - you tell stories I love so beautifully. You reweave the stories I love so beautifully. It is enchanting.
