Bakesperiment: Black Forest Brownies

So I had this bag of cherries sitting in my fridge, going bad because I wasn't eating them fast enough. Today, while cleaning around the kitchen, I decided to do something about them. I pitted and washed them, then threw them in a saucepan with some honey and cinnamon. I took the cooked mix and ran it through the blender, to wind up with a delicious puree! Then I cooked it a bit more to thicken, and started pondering my options...

In the end, I decided that chocolate + cherries is a delicious combination, and so i must do something with that. So I took a brownie recipe (Lisa's brownie recipe), and made a few alterations, vis: reduced sugar to about 3/4 C instead of 1, made about half of that brown sugar, used my special dark cocoa instead of regular, and added some almond extract. After the batter was mixed, i folded in about 1/3 of a cup of the cherry puree. It is now in the oven, but barring some kind of horrible cooking accident, I am going to declare this a success just on the basis that licking a splash of bater that landed on my finger in the pouring process was like an orgasm in my mouth.

I also have vanilla ice cream in the freezer, and a bit more of the cherry stuff... I probably shouldn't eat them all myself so if anyone local wants to give me a hand here, let me know :V

More than meets the Eye

Tomorrow, I am gong to go see the transformers movie. I neeeed to see it! Need! So, I am going to bus to school, bus to the mall, and then walk to the theater, catch an afternoon matinee, and then do the same in reverse. In order to watch a film on my own. Maybe this is a sad thing to do. Maybe it is the beginning of a strange and beautiful tradition. Who can say, at this point?
