I have revised my review chapter. I think it is good as it stands: it certainly introduces all the major issues and contexts. I will need another chapter introducing the pirates themselves, what little is known about them, and so forth. I can scam from my paper for Dudley and in part my paper for Carl from last term, for these things. I feel like I have put in some good hours tonight, and I shall reward myself by watching an episode of House. I am not sure what I will work on tomorrow. Possibly I will print this out, talk to Stewart, fix up references with help from the Chicago Manual of Style, and look up stuff for my presentation next week.
Oh yes, I got my syllabus for my class this term and it is sort of dissapointingly Ship focused. I have to pick a specific ship to research, and put in context. It isn't that I don't like ships, but I definitely find them less interesting than their contexts. I really just don't know what I'm specifically interested in researching from this period, but I need to know by this time next month. Also,
tsiankiio, did you get a copy of Runyan's book last year? Can I borrow it? Actually, there might be other books you own that I may want to scam. I'll consult next time I see you, whenever that may be...
ETA: Woot! I have 3 months of free shipping through Amazon, yay for free prime trials! I can add three people in my 'household' to the account, but we have to know each other's birthdays, but whatever. It only works in the states, but if anyone wants to try it out while I've got it free... let me know :)
