I just read about 60 odd pages of a MA thesis written by a lad who, if fined 1$ for every abuse of the apostrophe in forma writing (using contractions, using *the wrong its*, not using apostrophes for posessives), would owe me over ten dollars. His writing is unclear in other places, and not only are his theories on crack half the time, they are not even necessary to his arguments. The whole of this thesis can be summarized in a simple sentence: If people were drawng fish on things, probably maritime activity was important to their culture.
