Quiscalus came back up today (Though I suspect Ian is still going to talke mail management into his own hand, which is cool), and not only that, but it brought me *presents*!

Well. not right-away presents, but the promises of presents, from 2-3 of the people I contacted about school stuff had wrtten my back in the period between when it was just not relaying messages and when it *died* (I know it was realy dead, because calr gave me a lecture about not using non-school e-mail because when he tried to reply to my message, it bounced ;)

Anyway, that means I have less people to contact, though I do have to harass 1 because she was in a rush when she replied to me, and mail the other guy back, and send one I"m sorry, my mailserver died!" message, to one guy who probably hadn't replied anyway ^-^

All is good :) I'll do that this afternoon, I guess :) I need to get dressed and get going, eep!

I just finished the special collections tour with HIST 3000. It was pretty cool. I'd never had occasion to go up there before. Most of the stuff that is useful to me is either in the North Calrolina collection, or in the general stacks... or on microfilm.

Anyway. It was sexy. They have a 1724 copy of Johnson! Sure, I own three separate copie of this, but I think I'm going to have to go up there sometime and look through it anyway. I *heart* that book. It is in two volumes, with pretty binding... So shiny. I need to look at it further, because the name is slightly different than I was expecting (It is just A General History of the Pirates, no robberies and murders, but I only glanced at it quickly. Still, it definitely bears further investigation! Mmm.. sexy 18th century books...

They also have an original copy of Richard Hakluyt's book Principall navigations, traffiques, and discoveries of the English Nation ( Which is really called... ) Which is, of course, supremely sexy.

Anyway, I am off to skim a mircofiche to see if it has anything useful, plus grab a book that Carl said will anwers all the mysteries of life... or at least English/Colonial politics in the 18th C as they are relevant to my paper topic ;p

And then, I'm going to play wargames with Katie and Dr. Dudley. I am pretty sure I will lose, but it should be fun :)

Right! I just got back from playing History of the World with Dr. Dudley and Katie. Brian was there to watch for a bit, and some other proffs popped in briefly as well. It was fun! I won by lots! Go me!

Tonight.... I am doing...somethign? maybe? I guess I shoudl get my prresentation in order this weekend, or something, maybe? I should really just work on writing the damned paper. I probably *could* at this point, so why not? :p Ah am lazy! taht is why. I just done' feel like working. Also, I should have something to eat tiday. I had a bacon and egg (no chesse, damnit, is it really that hard!?!) biscuit after class at 10. I tried to eat a caesar wrap later on, but it was gross, and I only got through half of it. Plus there are bees, which make me gassy for some obscure reason, so I don't like eating. Then I had too many reeces pieces, and some apple juice. And I absolutely don't feel like cooking, or really doing much at all. Maybe reading. there are a few things that I should have done this week that I didn't, but no one seems to care but me... so I wonder what is the point. bah :p


I think I will go read some more of Ashton's memorial, which is the source of the above quote.

And oh, in good news, my BPAL shipment was sent today. So now I should really be expecting that, plus the Mystery package, and the part for my breadmaker.

I also got a lovely letter in the mail yesterday, which I shamefully forgot to relate. I think it is Janus's naked foot. Am I right? (If you don't understand this, then it wasn't for you ;p). I owe you letters. I keep meaning to write them. I have things to send, to others.. I am bad.

Today I did some new, different, exciting, social things. Now I want more, but there are none :( I feel like I am full of dissapontment for me and everyone else :( Boo. I was in such a good mood 10 min ago... smiling the whole way home.
