Yesterday, I planned to get about two more pages of my paper written. I got home around 2:15. At that point, I had plans with Julie for a bit of solo around seven as some mutual distraction, and more nebulous plans with Bronwen for the same. I was supposed to have a play date with B on Wednesday, but my internet crapped out and I had too much to do at that point to go up to the lab just to fool around, so we made tentative plans to reschedule. Thos plans also formalized over the afternoon, so I wound up with two IC sessions lined up! eep!

However, between the end of my shorter-but-still-awesome session with B and my session with Julie, I managed to meet my self-imposed quota.

Silly me... I thought that meant that I would go do a scene with Julie, and then get some *extra* work done. Ha! She twisted my rubber arm into doing another longer... possibly naughtier scene *cough*, and into staying up past both our bedtimes. It was fun, though. It just means that I'm not ahead any today. Well worth it ^-^ I hope that she feels the same, since she has to be at work all day, and stuff.

Today I am going to pick up a book from the libary for Dudley's class, and buy a jump drive, go to the post office (if I can find it), and finish my report. I don't have any other distractions scheduled, and I have all afternoon. This should be doable. I will probably sneak in a short nap as well, since I was up late last night.

Now, I am going to print out a sign for the Hist 3000 kids reminding them that we have a library tour today. Then I think I will go over to the library and get that book, and maybe do a Perseity update if I have time. I have 2-3 in mind, depending on how I split things up.

The otherimportant thing I am doing is sending vibes of good luck and efficiency to Hazel and Steve on Ottawa. They had better get you straightened out today! *hugs* to them, and to other who may need them today. They are free for the taking ^-^

It took me an hour to get to the post office and back. The package was from C, who sent me Corel Office Suite 2000. Never complain about free awesome things :) Thanks, and yes, I got it ^-^ I hadn't expected to see it so soon. Also, I forgot who I was getting it from... I was expecting software CD's. But, no, this has everything in its original packaging, from the manuals down to the 'youth employment strategy' screensaver thoughtfully include by the Canadian government. Thus, it required a box :) And now I know where the post office is :)

I also forgot that today, my complex is having a 'fall fest' from 1-5... Free food and prizes= good! Keen! First I ned a nap, and to do some work. maybe I will do more pewrseity updates later as well.

I like it when it doesn't take me as long to do something as I think it will. It gives me hope! I am now finished writing my Armada review. So I will let it sit over the weekend, and then go over it once or twice to polish it up, and talk to some of my peers, and polish it some more, etc. Hopefully I will manage an A!

In other news, I think I am going to name my jumpdrive Serenity, because of the way its ass flashes. I know, they all do that, but that doesn't mean anything ^-^

I think I will make nachos, then maybe mess around with something non-academic, make those Perseity updates I was talking about earlier, and then delve into the skimming of Forests and Sea Power: the Timber Problem of the Royal Navy, 1652-1862 by Robert Greenhalgh Albion. What a name! I picked this book to review for a number of geeky reasons. First of all, my dad is a natural resources manager for New Brunswick, and our province used to be one of the key sources of ship timber for Great Britain. Canada gets mentioned an awful lot in this book, *stragely* enough, and NB in particular. So I'm being patriotic, and showing loyalty to family tradition as well. My mom was also a forester, I'll note. I'll bet that Rob would be interested in some of the NB stuff too, for/from a King's Landing perspective. Another geeky reason I picked this book is that it is just sooooo nice! It is from the 'Classics of naval Literature' series from the Naval Institute Press. It is a beautifully bound hadcover printed on very high quality paper. It has a page-marking ribbon. It is blue, and of a nice size and weight (about 6" by 8" and 500 pages). It is a pretty sexy book! It even smells nice ^-^ It is pretty long though (...see comment re 500 pages -_-) so I forsee a lot of hardcore skimming/reading this weekend. But not quite yet!

What a great day!

Class was good! The library tour I proctored was useful, *and* I now know where the microfiche machines are! I bought a jumpdrive, probably for too much money! It is shiny and clear, and its ass glows blue! I did two Perseity updates, and am saving one for tomorrow :D I got wordperfect (finally, after all my years of searching!) I WON THE ORANGE GAME! I finished my paper! Hazel got all her paperwork sorted so she can go to the UK for real! I talked to Hazel and Steve and Julie! I had nachos for dinner! Ceiridwen called! I have an exciting geek book to start!

Yay!

Also Happy Birthday to Rogan (and others)! My turn Wednesday :D
