It seems my silly post about Joel's proffs hitting on him got taken too seriously by some people. I'm not worried. I can trust my boy. I know that if society were to collapse tomorrow, he would cross the ocean to find me again... It's very noble and romantic of him, I suppose, but what am I supposed to do in return? I'd be all afraid to miss him on the crossing and still wind up on different continents, so I guess I'd do my best to be easy to find, and stay in one place and stuff. Maybe carve out a kingdom for myself and when he comes we can rule together... I could become a queen and my soldiers could arrest him and bring him before me to be tried for some silly crime like poaching for which he is supposed to be executed, only then we could have a dramatic reunion... Hem.

*happy thoughts*

*Goes back to gaming and playing jamal, who has no happy thoughts at the moment.* Sucks to be him!

I had Archaeological Heritage Management this morning, also know as the most boring course in the world. It was expecoially boring today because it was all about the laws in England on archaeology stuff. Class started at eleven, and I really only got to bed at 4:30 or so.

But it was worth it.

The proff who teaches that course is Mike Parker Pearson. He is the Madagascar guy. He likes pirates, too. And a couple days ago, someone sent him a copy of a map in the mail. It shows where there were *two* pirate run forts, one on the Ile Saint Marie, and the other on Madagascar proper. The one on ISM was the one run by Samuel (or possibly Adam? I can never remember the first name) Baldridge. He was a merchant who got backing from some people in New York to set up a base and sell good such as rum and gunpowder to pirates at hugely inflated prices. He may have been an ex-pirate himself, I don't remember. Unfortunately, the book that all this information was in isn't in the library here, even though it was written by an Englishman. Stupid Library. I don't think it even has a copy of Exquemelin's pirate book. Ahh well, it did have a good version of A History of the Etc... ;)

Anyway, I am hoping that I can get enough info from this to do my long essay on it. Hmmm...
