I'm cooking dinner. It consists of a baked chicken leg, form a pack of 12 that I bought some time ago at Safeway and froze individually. I must say, the Brits have scary ideas about how to carve up their chicken bits... It still has the knee joint attached. And the way the bone is sawed off on the end, blood and marrow leaks out both ends while the legs cook, and I usually have to scrape it off about half way through. But hey, it's cheap protein. That's good right?

Also, I'm not all good on cooking chicken-y bits, so I think I've been cooking them too long. I used to do this thing where I'd coat them before hand in flour with salt and pepper and curry spices.... but now I don't bother. Partly because of the whole blood-and-marrow oozage, but also because they haven't been completely de-feathered. I used to skin them before I cooked them but, I realized it is much simpler (and less yicky) to do when they are already cooked. So, yum, chicken, yeah. Also, I'm not a huge fan of dark meat...

I'm probably going to have some soup (tomato) and toast (whole wheat, slightly burnt but not on purpose) and cheese (orange medium cheddar). And some OJ if I have any left...

What else, what else... It is raining today, very wet. I was out in the rain a few times. The first time, it was just sort of spitting. I bought some binders for next term, and an A-Z street guide for Sheffield (finally). then I came home, dropped that off, and decided to go up to the Geek Pub (The Star and Garter), as I think of it, to quasi-socialize with people I kind of know. generally conversations start about really technical computer stuff that I don't know/care about... Generally it's a pretty decent time, and the circle of people I talk to grows. None of the 'cool' people really bother with me much though.... but I'll live. I think it's partly because I never have anything to say, or at least I assume no one there weill care about anything I have to talk about... but I ramble.

Shall I return to the subject of food? I just returned from the kitchen(ette) with my drumstick, soup, cheese, etc. I burned my toast worse than I expected, and I accidentally tossed the res of my cheese in the garbage instead of putting it back in the fridge(lette) (Brits have fridges the size of the beer fridges at home... oy). And only a mouthful of OJ left, literally. Better 'enjoy' my dinner before it gets cold, I guess...
