Squash is disgusting and borders on the inedible! Also it smells funny.

I never had squash pie until I had some their mother made. It was delicious. Really and truly, squash is a more sensible vegetable for pie because it is sweeter than pumpkin.

Anyway, it tastes exactly like pumpkin pie to me. So don't knock it until you've tried it! ^-^

I am intrigued and frightened by this outpouring of support for the squash.

See, squash *borders* on inedible. But in fact, people actually do it eat in many forms.

Pumpkin, on the other hand, is only ever consumed in baked good form.

The *rational* explanation is that Squash is thwe superior vegetable. Ergo, baked goods made with squash insted of pumpkin are also superior.

Q.E.D.

...damn. That actually appears to be solid logic.
