Maaaaaail!

So, I am a bit obsessive about checking the mail, especially when I know that there is something on its way for me. I am expecting a few things, atm. Nevertheless, I *forgot* to check it yesterday until 1 AM. I was chatting with BPAL folks on a different irc network, and they encouraged me to follow my mad whim and go and check it then.

Well, hooray for them! I actually *did* have mail :D Bronwen sent me my belated Christmas present, which was a PotC Calendar with added snarky speech and thought bubbles, mainly about how Orlando Boom will never be prettier than Johnny Depp. This months's quote includes JD with starfish down his pants. "An interesting sensation, though..." This is great because it is amusing, and saucy, and also unlike last year when I was drowning in calendars of nekkid folk, this year I had nothing ^-^

But it was an *even* better present than that because it included two pictures! Two really awesome pictures, though I think the second one really takes the cake. More art for my walls *and* I win again at Bronwen pics... I tend to think the ones she has done for me are better than some of the others on her site, but I could just be biased >:D

More UCL news!

I head back from Joe Flatman again, so I refuse to lose encouragement ;) he is going to ask one of his colleagues ("Mr. Port of London" ;) about the possibility of looking at old reports to coallate a sort of social-history-and-archaeology perspective of maritime identity from them I think that would be interesting. exciting, and useful... *and* he says there would probably be local money for it :D

Anyway, I'm still hopeful, and that is Good ^-^

Pieces Nine

This section is long, and significant. I hope that it is also *good*. I'm almost wary of posting it because it reveals so much, and it is at this point that I worry people will decide my whole concept is just implausible and stupid. Ahh well. I hope you will at least be honest. If it *is* implausible and stupid, I have other things I can write ^-^ It is also one of the longest, if not the longest, section I've written. Hopefully they won't get too much longer than this. Now if only I could write this much on my thesis in a day in one sitting, I'd be laughing -_-
