I finished my Jukebox! I'm pretty happy with it, anyway, so hopefully my recip (who gave me a blank signup) will like it to! I did have some older letter to look at, but you never know what kinds of things may have changed.

Other than that, work was fine. My meeting was fine. I didn't really need to be there but apparently I can take minutes. Wheee. More importantly, it means I know what's going on with things. And stuff I think actually needs more discussion will have to...keeeeep waiting until the director has time (which he legitimately does not atm). I have a training course next week to learn how to do billing, but honestly I think I've mostly figured it out already :p

Now that I have finished Jukebox, I need to get plotting on my Raksura exchange fic! I have some cool prompts to work with, at least.

I also got some edits back on the wiki entry I wrote for my LARP, which shouldn't take too long to deal with, except I need to name things (Ugh!). I also found out that I *can* go to just part of the next event! Which is to say I am able to get a ride home on Saturday night, so I am happy. Yay having cake and eating it too!

Had the first session of my friend's new Pathfinder game this week! The party gelled really well - we all used to work at or hang out at a circus together, and so we;re all already friends. We got sucked into some kind of game thing and need to find these tokens to get out. I got mine by using the only skill I have: intimidation. I terrified a bugbear into giving me his, upon which he immediately died. Score? I'm a necromantic oracle, basically. It's pretty rad. I have a skeleton kitty. This kitty used to be a jerk kitty who peed on all my things, bu now it is a skeleton and that, and hairballs, are no longer an issue! We have a ranger who is a trick rider, an acrobatic rogue, and a cleric of Desna who mostly used to hang around and gamble a lot/cheat at cards.

There was a baby fawn at work today. Mother deer sometimes leave them in the village, and that's fine - that's how deer do, basically - but this one was right on the edge of the open field and right where people were going to be conducting a field school. But it was fine, we closed up the village early and it left with its mother :3 Seriously, it was teeny tiny, probably born that morning :3

pic! )

I also started reading my book of indigenous sci fi short stories (Mit√™w√Ęcimowina: Indigenous Science Fiction and Speculative Storytelling) - there are some really great omes so far. I'm super pleased with it! There are some authors in it I'll probably try and find more works by, for sure. Especially if they have short story collections.

And I got the corrections on my story for RTSW, though I haven't looked at them yet....And now I have, and they look fine. Only 3 places where they have a comment or need clarification, and more minor corrections other than that. I'm so excited, still!

Tomorrow I am going to try and do more writing in the evening! I also need to dig out my goth prom clothes for Saturday. I should probably also figure out if I need to be at work on Monday....

Work was worky. It is always a period of 'what am I even doing' followed by a period of 'omg how is it two hours later?' There was some stuff that made me displeased, but got resolved okay, and some that didn't to my knowledge get resolved but hopefully won't be a problem? Probably won't, but sill displeasing.

And then I figured out how to solve some of my issues on my own and felt good!

Tonight was another night of rushing around to leave as soon as I got home, but I did manage to cram some food into my system, at least. And then I went to see Guardians of the Galaxy 2! It was fun, and good, but not *outstanding*. It had some good moments and some stuff that felt less fresh because it was a sequel, and though in theory it had a lot of scope it felt very small. And I got a free comic and to hang out with folks a bit, so that was nice.

And now Nary is here - they are having work done on the house in preparation for putting it on the market, and needed to get Argo out so that he wouldn't bother the workmen, or run off while the front door is being repaired. Yay for me, anyway!

We're going to watch the first episode of American Gods, since I have Amazon Prime, and at least the Amazon original content is still available in Canada....

One of the girls in my knitting group wants to run a pathfinder game! So I let my arm be twisted, and am going to play. It will run bi-weekly on Thursdays opposite of knitting, so basically I just have a permanent Thursday commitment now instead of a bi-weekly one.

We got together to work on character creation this week. I had no idea what I wanted to make, but I wound up with a half-oc cleric of the god(dess? I'm not sure) of gluttony, disease, and undeath. Her mystery is Bones and her curse is Wasting! We had to roll stats (old school!), and she is not very good at anything except being terrifying. In fact her level 1 spells are cause fear and one that I forget the name of that makes someone's face turn into a horrifying monstrosity, giving them both a bonus to intimidate and a bite attack. Yay! I still need a name for her, and to pick a feat (ugh feats), but I think it will be fun :) The rest of the party is a halfling cleric of the goddess of luck, and half-elf rogue who ran away from being a circus performer. So I guess we're a lot of halves ;p Longpig is going to be making a character as well.

Work went well - I had some good conversations and some annoying conversations, but overall things look to be going okay. Hopefully the continue along that path! Next week will be a little odd, because everyone is going to be away in Ottawa for the CAAs. So hopefully I won't have any issues crop up that I can't handle. And then the week after that I have my first aid training! I'm still pretty excited about that too.

I'm feeling much better today, which is to say that the cold is no longer in the front of my face, but taking up residence in my sinuses and trying to take a foothold in my lungs. wooh. So I'm going to go to bed now, which is not super early like yesterday, but still at a more reasonable hour than usual.

G'night!

Am sick :(

It's been building all day and now I'm in bed listening to Nary read me from the Ahsoka book.

Space Swap opened though. It's super rad. I got 3 gifts! But I will rave about them when I have more brain.

I started my little shawlette tonight - it is *not* going to be good bus knitting, but it should be a fun little knit for when I don't have the patience for beading. As long as I do have th patience for lace + cables >.>

The chart for it is weird and very non-standard, so I think I'm just going to stick with the written instructions this time. Or maybe I'll have the brain to figure it out later.

Diablotin was today, and it was good! I didn't do much else today... well I crafted some mines and made cupcakes and cleaned the kitchen. It didn't feel like much.

On Tuesday, the rest of the fam is going to the UK for two weeks. I'll be all alone and need to clean up after and feed myself entirely on my own :o I can probably managed it somehow though :P But it will be a really quiet two weeks...

Ahh well. Work tomorrow, though!

Started reading the Ahsoka novel with Nary tonight - they are playing 'crokin'. It's space crokinole. I wonder how many people even know it is a real game? I'm deeply amused!

I also went for a hike in one of the many little nature preserves in town. This one has about 4.5 km of trails, and at this time of year it was flush with wildflowers! So pretty - I haven't seen that many trilliums in ages. One of the women who was along knew a lot about them as well, so I actually learned a bunch more local flowers and plants. My legs are a little sore, mostly from one particularly steep hill on the way out. I'm really glad I got a chance to go! I could try and put up some pictures - I dumped a bunch on facebook, but I could put some faves somewhere else for reposting I guess.

I've done almost nothing else all day though. Wheeee! I did find another pattern for my yarn, but I didn't get around to winding it yet. Maybe tomorrow. And now it's bedtime :3

Like many a knitter, I have a stash.

I try not to accumulate stash, but of course I'm not successful at this goal. I try to only buy stuff with projects in mind, so that I can know for certain that I have enough yarn for whatever it may be. And then I also try and find good stash busting projects.

I'm failing *really hard* at the latter rn and I'm sad :(

I have a really gorgeous yarn that I bought for socks, only it is 100% merino, and the last pair of 100% merino socks I made didn't even last a season before they had major holes. This is the same brand. The yarn is gorgeous! I don't know what else I would ever wear it as, though. Its waaaaay too bright for me. I have no idea what to do with it :/

When I was in Gloucester last summer I bought two skeins of complimentary colours. They were the same base alpaca but had been dyed by sisters. I figured that would be enough to make a little shawlette of some kind, but apparently I was wrong. I have 430 yards (215 each) and I can't find anything I really like :/

I have 400 meters of my 'drowzee' yarn that I dyed - pale yellow and brown. It isn't really enough to do much with either I have a million shawls already and I hardly ever wear them as it is. I don't think I've worn my Queen Anne's Lace, not really, since I blocked it. It needs the ends trimmed still.

Sometimes I get encouraged when things turn up n the pattern search, but then I realize that the smaller yardage is for the smaller *size* and to try and get it to actually fit *me* I don't have enough. Or I'll find one that I like and realize that I don't have the *proportions* I need - like it takes 400 total, but 300 of one and 100 of the other. Then there's that pattern I was going to start tonight which says it needed 400 yards and then when I looked at it more closely, the actual yardage was 300-400 of one colour and 200-250 of the other. That's a minimum of 500 yards. That's some bullshit. I am not impressed.

Anyway. I'm working in Pulled by the Sunset still and it is coming along nicely but slowly. I just finished a pair of socks (mostly - they need their ends woven in) that I messed up one of them is longer in the leg than the other and I didn't figure this out until WAY too late) for a friend. So I need a secondary, more portable knitting project. That isn't socks.

...*sigh* I'm sure I'll find something I can do from my stash! But not tonight - too sleepy. Night, internet!
